In 1991 she moved to Karlsruhe and founded her own practice where she presently resides and continues to work. She is the proud mother of two boys born in 1996 and 1998.

In 2008 she joined the Freie Demokratische Partei (FDP), the German liberal party. In 2009 she was elected as a vice-chairman of the party in Karlsruhe. She has since been nominated as the candidate for the regional parliament elections which will take place in March 2011.
