A play that moves hearts: \u201cThe true story of a stolen childhood\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n

How do you tell a story that equally captures the beauty of a culture, the cruelty of human trafficking and the unwavering fighting spirit of a human being? Feelgood Theatre’s<\/em> award-winning play does just that. <\/p>\n

This extraordinary work tells the true story of Mende Nazer<\/strong>, a girl from the Nuba Mountains in Sudan who experienced a happy childhood before becoming a victim of enslavement. The production takes the audience on a moving journey from the hills of the Nuba Mountains to modern-day London. It not only celebrates Mendes’ indomitable spirit, but also sheds light on the harrowing reality of human trafficking and modern slavery, which affects around 50 million people<\/strong> worldwide today. <\/p>\n

An ensemble of eight outstanding actors and musicians bring this story to life in a unique way – with a mixture of captivating storytelling, dance and music that gets under your skin. Mendes’ voice challenges us to reflect on the meaning of freedom and to take responsibility. <\/p>\n

Feelgood theater: stories that move<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Since its inception in 1994, Feelgood Theatre<\/em> has captured the hearts of over 350,000 audiences worldwide with its bold and inspiring productions. From spectacular shows in Africa and Europe to world premieres in the West End, this theater dares to do the impossible to bring stories like Mende’s to the stage. <\/p>\n

Members of the Foundation attended the play on November 9, 2024 at Riverside Studios, London<\/strong>
We were there live for one of the most emotional performances of the play. Mende herself was part of the premiere in Manchester, and her presence at the opening moved everyone involved deeply. The final performance in London was just as emotional, with Janan Sutherland, Chairman of the Mende Nazer Foundation and Jacqueline Ribero, 2nd Chairman of the Mende Nazer Foundation mingling with the audience. An extraordinary production with outstanding actors touched the audience in London. <\/p>\n
